PRO ETHANOL

In 2026, PRO officially commissioned its state-of-the-art ethanol production facility, becoming one of the largest suppliers of ethanol supporting Uganda's E5 fuel blending initiative, which was launched in late 2025 with a production capacity of 35,000 litres of ethanol per day.

This makes PRO not only the largest ENA producer in the region but also the largest ethanol producer. 

As a key contributor to Uganda's growing biofuel sector, PRO works closely with the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development to support the country's clean energy transition and help meet the increasing demand for locally produced ethanol under the national biofuels blending programme.

Through this investment, PRO is strengthening energy security, supporting local agriculture, creating employment opportunities, and contributing to Uganda's sustainable industrial growth.
